Barbara Powell BARBARA POWELL, affection- ately known as YOGA MA by her students, is a long-time practitioner of yoga with a deep personal practice in the medita- tive arts. Along with attending many yoga workshops with top teachers in the states and being the senior teacher for many years at Tias Little's previous Santa Fe studio, Yoga Source, she has completed several long-term silent meditation retreats in North America and in India. Her own practice as well as her teaching is reflective of all eight limbs of yoga and the teachings of the dharma.
During the months of the year when she is in Santa Fe, she teaches at Body of Santa Fe, Yoga at the Railyard, and co-leads a meditation group at the Cerro Gordo Temple. In addition, Barbara offers one-on-one guidance in her mountain retreat cabin in the pine forest of Santa Fe in which individuals are encouraged to design their own personal retreat with optional instruction in yoga, meditation and hikes in the vast forest trail system that surrounds the retreat cabin. She has been leading retreats in Sayulita, Mexico for the past 5 years and also leads retreats in Costa Rica and Pagosa Springs, Colorado, among other locations.
Her style is gentle yet empowering, with a focus on encouraging students to uncover their own inner teacher. Testimonials from her students can be found on her website, www.yogamabarbara.com. | To Register Your Barbara Powell Retreat Click Here!
