Sayulita
ImageImageSayulita offers visitors and locals alike incredible beaches, lush jungles and an authentic taste of Mexico. Travel and Leisure Magazine's October 2007 issue, said Sayulita has grown into one of those high-low places, where you can drop $1,800.00 on a leather and pearl necklace, waltz out past a real estate office with a Christie’s logo, and then have the best fish taco in the world from a cart on the street for 85 cents.

ImageYou can have 5 star dining at the ocean, or strips of mahi-mahi coated in dark beer and garlic batter at Sayulita Fish Taco. Coco Banana has the most fabulous breakfast burritos, and is THE place to be seen in the early morning.  The town boasts great Italian food at Leonardo’s, whose owner arrived from Venice years ago, and brought his grandmother's recipes with him.

Some evenings can be slow and lazy in Sayulita, but Mondays always offer a Cuban salsa band with dancing lessons at Don Pedro’s.  The Red Dragon, Sayulita’s only Chinese restaurant, has live entertainment most nights also.

ImageThe services and shopping are as surprising as the food scene.  La Hamaca is the finest shop for folk art and crafts in the village, and it's sand floor makes the interior as unique as its wares.  Gypsy Gallery is an overstuffed bazaar of anything and everything and one should not miss visiting it.

ImageSayulita's beach scene can be an intoxicating mix of people watching.  Some of the best surfers of Mexico live here, and can be seen short board riding, doing a headstand, or surfing with their dogs.  Surfboards and boogie boards are easily rented for the day and it allows newcomers a chance to try their hand at the sport. Beach umbrellas with lounge chairs are rented at $10.00 a day, and the waiters will serve you delicious food and icy cold drinks right where you are.

A short 8 miles down the road from Sayulita is Punta Mita.  Most famous now for its 4 Seasons Hotel, with it's beach cabana charge of $300.00 a day, and room rates anywhere from $600.00 to $9,000.00 per night. Their new villas start at $4 million.  A new Malecon, much like what Puerto Vallarta has with high end shopping and new art galleries, is moving in where the old fish taco places used to be.

A retreat at Baliville offers the best of these worlds.  You can be secluded in our quiet jungle environment, spend some time in Sayulita with its wonderful charm, and then experience the lavish lifestyles of the rich and famous who flock to Punta Mita.

Come and enjoy our world.
